Dr Alan Tan
Malaysia born, educated in Dunedin and at Otago University, Alan is married with a young family. Alan as the owner of dentistry for “chickens” has your interests at heart and with a great deal of experience in IV sedation, general dentistry and emergency work, his “nice guy of dentistry” name is well earned. He will listen to your fears and concerns and treat you with respect and compassion.
Dr Garth Sherriff
Garth graduated from Otago University in 1972. Following graduation he spent two years in a private practice in rural New Zealand before heading to England for 18 years where he worked in dental practices that specialised in general anaesthetic and sedations for dental treatment.
While in England Garth was actively involved with SAAD (Society for the Advancement in Anaesthetic Dentistry) and completed post graduate courses in sedation.
When Garth returned to NZ in 1994 he took over an established IV practice in Remuera, Auckland as well as part-time work with Accident and Emergency dental clinics.
Garth regularly attends meetings and conferences in order to keep abreast of the latest technology and procedures.
He is also a member of the New Zealand Society for Anaesthesia & Sedation in Dentistry (NZSSAD).
Rebecca has been working in the dental industry for over ten years, most of that with dentistry for “chickens”. She started as a part time Dental Assistant in the After Hours service and has worked her way to Practice Manager. She tells us she is proud to be a part of such an awesome team.
Dr Ellen Yang
Ellen is an enthusiastic and hard working dentist who endeavours to always ensure her patients are comfortable in the dental setting.
With the completion of her studies in NZ, she has been working in the dental field for 20 years. She has a special interest in the areas of restorative dentistry and endodontics.
Ellen is able to communicate in English and is fluent in Mandarin.
Married to Edward for 17 years, they have 2 lovely teenage daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks, good food and spending time with her family.
Dr Teresa Chang
Teresa qualified in Perth, Australia and has an interest in emergency dentistry and being able to help people when it is most needed. She will always take her time to ensure you have the best outcome she can provide. Teresa speaks both Mandarin and English fluently.

Ella has been with Dentistry for “chickens” for many years as dental assistant and more recently as hygienist. Ella is careful and meticulous and kind and you will leave her with beautifully clean and fresh teeth.
